Being a visualization guy, You need to analyze data and prepare reports of how business is doing. It helps organizations to track their performance. Visualization Analyst starts their work from understanding business requirement, suggestion & implementation of report design, extract data from data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Excel, Analyze data and perform data cleaning before preparing dashboard. Once data preparation is ready then Dashboard is created in the tool requested by Client. 

Tableau and Power BI are market leader whereas there are more options available in market such as QlikView, QlikSense, Spotfire, Pentaho, D3.js and more.

Excel is also used as one of visualization alternative.

Education depends as per organization to organization and everything depends on your knowledge. But You should have at least Bachelor. You may see some organizations write B.Tech or BE but it does not mean they do not hire B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., CA.

Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Data Processing Software capabilities are added advantage like SAS, R or Python. Various organizations may ask for Alteryrx or data warehousing software too.

Data Visualization Analysts generally draw 4-5 lac per year with 2 year experience around. You may get salary of 10 to 18 lac per year when you have experience of 8 to 10 years.
